Differential Amount = Base Rate × Differential % ÷ 100. Effective Rate = Base Rate + Differential Amount, and Total Pay = Effective Rate × Hours Worked.

Whatever your employer's policy specifies for the shift type (e.g. night, weekend, or holiday shifts) — this tool doesn't know or set that percentage for you; it only applies the number you enter.

No — it calculates a flat differential-adjusted rate for the hours entered. If some of those hours are also overtime, use the Overtime Calculator separately, since this tool doesn't model how the two combine.
