Frequently Asked Questions
They share the same underlying calculation — Basic/HRA/PF/tax/net from your annual CTC. Use whichever name matches what you're searching for; the output is identical.
It assumes PF is 12% of Basic (40% of CTC), a common default. Some employers apply a PF wage ceiling or different Basic percentage, which would change your real deduction.
Net In-Hand = (Annual CTC − annual PF − estimated annual tax) ÷ 12. The tax figure is a rough flat approximation (10% of CTC above Rs. 7,00,000), not a real slab-based computation.
It's a reasonable starting estimate, but always ask the employer for their exact CTC breakup — actual allowances, bonuses, and deduction structures vary.
