Merge PDF and Compress

Merging combines two or more PDF files into a single document. Compressing then reduces that merged file's size by downsampling embedded images, removing redundant data, and applying lossless stream compression. The result is one smaller PDF that is easier to email or upload.

Reduction depends on how many images the PDFs contain. Documents that are mostly text may shrink 10–20 %. PDFs with high-resolution images can reduce 50–80 % on the Medium or High setting. The Low setting preserves the most quality with a smaller reduction.

No. Text in PDFs is stored as vector data, not pixels, so it is not affected by compression. Only embedded images are downsampled. On the Low or Medium setting, images remain clear at normal reading sizes.

Yes. Each file keeps its own page dimensions and orientation when merged. A landscape page from one file and a portrait page from another will both appear correctly in the combined PDF.

There is no hard limit set by this tool. You can select as many PDF files as your browser can handle in one go. Very large batches (dozens of files totalling hundreds of MB) may be slow depending on your device.

Yes. All processing happens in your browser using client-side JavaScript. Your files are never uploaded to any server. Once you close or refresh the page, the files are gone.
